Good to hear you got it back :-D

I 'might' have the lock set (ignition, doors and boot) lock set from the GSR for you, but I can't remember where I put them

If anyone else offers you some then obviously take those.

11 stone wet through, a bit of a pi55 head, and a little difficult to understand, but still decent entertainment.......

I have looked and they are not in the garage or anywhere downstairs in the house. The only other place for me to look is the loft but could't last night as my daughter was in bed (we have enough problems getting her to sleep through, i'd be shot if I woke her up).

I'll try to get a look later today.

Well I have got my ignition offf and got it started so I could put it up the drive and its 'wee wee' water from the rad, a bit more investegation reveals emulsified oil so its a head off job to see whats happened, hopefully it will just need a skim and a gasket, they must have ragged it quite hard :sidefrown:

Will know more tomorrow as hopefuly will get the head off weather allowing

It wont be cheap, it costs nearly £150 in studs and gaskets alone just to remove the head and fit it back, and then it will need skimming and maybe even decking to get a good seal, a radiator and new set of locks and keys, hopefully that will be it, add the £150 we had to pay to get it back and I just haven't got any money at the mo

Luckily I don't need to get it back up and running urgently ;-) but I am really thinking of breaking it for spares, still not sure what to do

Not trying to be a downer on an already bad situation, but do you think you'll ever feel the same about owning the car after what's happened to it?
- I'm not sure I could still enjoy driving a car I once really liked or indeed come to terms with that :?

If you haven't already sorted this out, I have found the ignition barrell and boot lck from the GSR. No door locks yet but I'll keep looking.

If you want them, PM me your address and I'll post them off to you.

Well got the head off today and the gasket had gone on no.3 cylinder (full of water) and there is a bit of damage to no.2 piston, looks like ringland failure from the top, wont really be able to tell without removing it, either way the engine is officially dead, think I will be breaking it fr spares
