I've only been looking at ones I can buy with saved money but if I wait I might be able to get one a little more expensive as I get a bit of a pay rise from April (well, I have to work 2.5 hours more and I get paid for working the extra, although I usually work 50+ hours a week and get paid for 35 so now I'll get paid for 37.5).

I get ya ;) Are you intending to keep it for a while? If so then waiting a little while longer could bag you a better example. :D

Post Re: Civic Type R (EP3)
I wasn't convinced about the mileage on the car I viewed on Friday (seat bolster was a little more worn than I'd expect and the seller only had MOT's from 2011) so I asked for the relevant details to put into the direct.gov site.............

Turns out it went from 94k miles in 2010 to 54k miles in 2011......I wasn't too happy to be fair but talking to the seller he seemed genuinely surprised so I took all this into consideration and made an offer (half the original advertised price) which unsurprisingly wasn't accepted. Poor bloke didn't check the mileage before buying it.

Still looking.............

Made an offer on the 2005 plate one. Just waiting for the seller to get back to me.

I'll need it, the offer is 70% of the original advertised price and it wasn't 'badly priced' to start with.

Depending what you have to spend, have you considered going straight to a Honda dealer and asking about the warehouse full of them in Swindon? Well, I say it's there, it used to be there, just down the road from the factory and they had all models of Civics with just test miles on them at bloody good prices.

It's my 'alternative' transport, so not looking to spend that kind of money, but nice to know though, thanks.

Looked at another Type R today and it was a dog, I didn't expect a lot to be honest but thought i'd check one at the lower end of the price scale.

The seller of the 2005 one refused my offer, so I have said i'll give him the current asking price (still £500 less than it was originally up for) however he has someone coming tonight that is supposed to be buying it, hopefully he drops out as i have a good insurance quote and it is by far the best one I have looked at and I should have just bought it in the first place......
