Post RONART
Been to Ike's today to pick up some rear pads that he sorted for me and an oil filter (I really have hated that halfrauds one as it's smaller than it should be  ) Anyway , those who know Ikes will know it can be a petrolheads heaven and there's also a feel of walking into a museum or back in time. :D With the Laurel wreaths around the wall etc.

When I went in today he had rather a nice looking motor , turns out it's a Reynard (I think that's what he said) 7lt beast of an engine producing approx 450bhp!! It's not exactly a heavy car , but must be a chore put down that power with quite skinny rears!! They are pretty rare from what I was told. Sorry about some of the pics - kinda blurred

And if you ever saw/heard the V12 of one of those going-by back in the 80's like I did you'd be even more impressed... :-D

Yeah I bet it sounded meaty as hell ! He'd got it in with a suspected breathing problem. Seems like there was clearance issues with the bonnet and the front carbs.

:keke: .... Errrr, I meant just hearing/seeing a Reynard with it's Jag V12 cruising-by on along a road.

Not read about any being raced, (not particularly designed for handling prowess IIRC) and would'nt have stood much chance in Kitcar racing against Sylvas, Caterhams and the like :?

- but someone might have been mad enough :-D

He is? Well I never! :D He was very amenable and pleasant yesterday , he does know his stuff and I trust his judgement - it's been bang on for years. :D He was absolutely right about those crappy ebc's I've got on , unfortunately at the time he couldnt help me out. He's the one that's turned me to Mintex as I've had various grades over the years and they've always been bang on. Same with oil filters , the ones that are listed by Halfrauds - anyone noticed they are smaller in diameter than they really should be? Ikes sorted me out with a decent one now though. :D

Yeah I know what ya mean Steve , the missus won't go in lol , I think he basically keeps the shop running more as a hobby funding the racing. I do put stock in what he has to say , always sorted me out. :D
